Valentine’s Day is normally considered a holiday for couples and the romantically-inclined, but V-Day is also a great time to celebrate all the types of love in our lives. Kids love Valentine’s Day (who doesn’t love a holiday that promotes eating chocolate?) and Valentine’s Day crafts are a fun way to celebrate the holiday with kids while helping them to use their creativity.
3 Fun and Easy Valentine’s Day Crafts for Kids:

1. Handprint Heart Cards/Cards with Handprint Flower Petals
Nothing is more special than a handmade card, and these handprint heart cards are extra special. Simply fold a piece of construction paper in half and have your child *dip their hands in red or pink paint. Press their hands onto the paper, overlapping the palms to form a heart shape. Once dry, kids can write a sweet message inside for a loved one. You can also draw green stems on a piece of construction paper and have your child dip their hands in paint and press them above the stems for a beautiful Valentine’s flower bouquet.
*This is a messy craft but kids love it- my son enjoys finger painting and will do so any chance he gets!
2. Valentine’s Day Love Bugs
These adorable love bugs are fun to make and perfect for decorating! You’ll need pom-poms, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, and glue. Have kids attach googly eyes to the pom-pom, then twist pipe cleaners into little antennae. They can decorate their love bugs with stickers, glitter, or tiny heart cutouts. These little critters make cute gifts or can be used as fun decorations!

3. Heart-Shaped Suncatchers
Brighten up your windows with colorful suncatchers! First, cut heart shapes out of wax paper and let kids decorate them with small tissue paper pieces in pink, red, and purple. Next, once they’ve arranged their design, cover it with another piece of wax paper and lightly iron to seal. Hang them in a sunny spot for a beautiful Valentine’s Day display.
These three easy crafts can make Valentine’s Day even more special for your family while encouraging creativity and fun!
